🏆 Winner @ Junction 2025 – Top 5 out of 300 teams and 1,500 participants
We won Junction 2025, the biggest European hackathon! Our team — Jordan Legg, Jacob Kenney, Mikus Sturmanis, and myself — built DroneStalker: a real-time drone tracking and prediction system that took us into the top 5.
The result? People didn’t just see what we built — they experienced it. Our interactive scenario drew people in, helped them try it, and got them excited about using real AI for high-stakes drone defense.
Junction 2025 was easily the biggest and best hackathon I’ve ever joined. Espoo, Finland — 1,500 participants, 300+ teams, relentless creative energy and a wild international community. After the awards, we were invited to Google Legends Day as a top 5 team: lunch at Ravintola Savoy, a warship cruise across the Baltic Sea, sauna, swimming, and networking with founders and Google teams. Truly a surreal, once-in-a-lifetime memory.
The best part? The people. From close teammates to new friends — Jade Yarrow, Kitty Mayo, Daniel Almi, Jesse Lappalainen, Elias Simojoki, Otto Bäckman, David Gelberg, Ville Toiviainen, Romain Mussault, Unicorn Mafia, n8n, Figma — these connections are what really last.
Big thanks to Junction, Google DeepMind, and Google Cloud for making this possible. Looking forward to next year! 🇫🇮
